Oh my gosh—THE DVDS HAVE ARRIVED!!! Complete with personal, gold-ink inscriptions from Fess Parker! I am so honored! Thank you SO much. Fess has the most beautiful handwriting, doesn’t he?

My husband and I are working on a date for the big celebration party and told our friends to be sure that their buckskin suits are back from the cleaners. (Daniel and Mingo were always so CLEAN.) I think it will be a
BYOH (Bring Your Own Hatchet) party. We will serve appropriate vittles (or victuals?) and the crowning glory of the evening will be watching the very first episodes of the show.

It is funny, when I told our veterinarian about how excited I was to win this contest, he confided that his very first romantic stirrings–his first crush–was on the actress who played Daniel Boone’s wife (Patricia Blair).

Another guy friend told me that when he was a little boy, he read every single book on Daniel Boone in his nearby library, but wanted more. So he convinced his mom to drive him across town to the Daniel Boone Branch Library, because he was certain that any library named after Daniel Boone would have more books about him. Even though he discovered his theory was incorrect. he still was thrilled to be in the Daniel Boone
Branch Library.

Anyway, thanks again so much. It was definitely worth the wait. Please thank Fess Parker for me; again, I feel very, very honored.

Walter Winchell, the great commentator, once said, “The same thing happened today that happened yesterday, only to different people.” Truer words were never spoken and could have easily been said by the great American hero - Daniel Boone.
