My Fellow Americans:

Walter Winchell, the great commentator, once said, “The same thing happened today that happened yesterday, only to different people.” Truer words were never spoken and could have easily been said by the great American hero - Daniel Boone. We live in uncertain times and a foggy future. We’re in the middle of an election that may determine the next hundred years of our society and culture. Can we afford not to consider that basic human values, faith, common sense and a determined will to make it right, is the answer?

America needs a man like Daniel Boone. He’s more than a legend, more than a TV character, more than what we wanted him to be when we grew up watching him, his family and friends in awe and wonder. He’s a part of our American history because he embodied the basic human and family values that built this country and made it’s people great. He made us feel good about ourselves and the world despite the travails of life. It’s why he should be president but since he can’t we can at least tell you why he’s the right man for America, right now.

1. The consummate family man who believes that without the love and strength of a family, life is truly miserable
2. Faith in God and his mercy
3. All living things are sacred and should be treated with respect
4. Walk softly but carry a big stick
5. Take care of the land and it will take care of you
6. When things seem the darkest, common sense and faith will see you through the tough times
7. A man has a right to defend his home and family by whatever means necessary
8. Accept the differences of those you share the earth with
9. Calm in the face of danger or hardship
10. Never live beyond your means
11. Personal and spiritual fulfillment above material gain
12. Belongs to no political party but the family of man
13. Treat others as you would like to be treated
14. Listen to others before speaking
15. Humility is a virtue
16. Share your wisdom and knowledge because they may share theirs with you
17. In all things moderation
18. The ultimate survivor

This is but a partial list of why Daniel Boone is an inspiration to young and old, and should be to the current presidential candidates. Given these extraordinary personal qualities and the very difficult times that face us, a very important question must be asked:
